Crisis Community Aid (CCA) is a community-driven social media platform which encourages and allows the world to become a global village by collaborating and providing real-time information on a given crisis.The goal of this platform is to support the exchange of vital information with a disaster onset. Public empowerment occurs as citizens post pertinent details regarding a crisis. First responders (and other actively engaged stakeholders) can use this info to address the situation. Likewise, organizations actively responding to the crisis are encouraged to submit updates on current needs, undertakings and successes. The site also ranks NGOs based on their efficiency in responding to a given crisis situation and effective use of donated funds. Potential donors can then donate directly to the organizations that they believe will make best use of funds donated.In addition, first responders and NGOs have a dedicated login area to communicate and collaborate synergistically. This restricted area enables the first responders to communicate with each other without releasing confidential information to the public. This website is accompanied by an app which allows experts of various fields to volunteer their expertise to responders on the ground in need of assistance.
